To ensure the product was fully aligned with user needs, I employed reliable Double Diamond design process:

Discover and Define:
I conducted a UX/UI audit of the existing solution, performed a competitor analysis, and carried out in-depth user interviews to uncover key insights.

Develop and Deliver:
I crafted new user flows and built wireframes, testing them with real users and refining them iteratively to meet user requirements. Additionally, I created detailed documentation for the upgrade, established new acceptance criteria.

Research

I collaborated with the PM and team to create user flows and define functional features that could enhance the platform and streamline our process. These efforts were informed by user research and targeted at addressing key challenges.

User Flows

User Flows

The platform may lack compliance with accessibility standards, such as WCAG, which is critical for individuals with disabilities or caregivers seeking ABA services.

Users may struggle with scheduling appointments or contacting therapists if the process isn’t streamlined.

Users in specific areas (e.g., Manhattan, Bronx) may find it difficult to confirm if services are available in their location.

Caregivers may find it challenging to track their child's therapy progress.

Missed appointments may occur if reminders are not in place.

Challenge

I decided to build CJM in this challenge, since it helps to visualize the entire journey of a BT, from onboarding to completing therapy sessions. It identifies key moments where they encounter pain points or delight, ensuring the solution is not just focused on a single task but on the holistic user experience.

I decided to build CJM in this challenge, since it helps to visualize the entire journey of a BT, from onboarding to completing therapy sessions. It identifies key moments where they encounter pain points or delight, ensuring the solution is not just focused on a single task but on the holistic user experience.

For this challenge, I created a persona based on insights gathered from user interviews. This persona represents the real needs, goals, frustrations, and behaviors of therapists, allowing us to design a more user-centered solution. By incorporating direct feedback from the interviews, the persona serves as a guiding tool to ensure that the platform’s features and interactions are aligned with the therapist’s daily workflow and pain points.

Conducted a comprehensive analysis of the existing application and user flow, carefully mapping out each step of the user's journey. Collaborated closely with the Product Manager to identify key pain points, user frustrations, and areas of inefficiency within the flow. Worked together to define actionable improvements, ensuring the user flow would be more intuitive, streamlined, and aligned with user needs, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience and addressing critical usability challenges.

After conducting an in-depth analysis of user needs and behaviors, we identified the challenge of therapists struggling to easily locate clients. To address this, we redesigned the interface to display key information about each client, including a brief profile and their location, directly on the screen. This solution allows therapists to quickly identify potential clients in their vicinity, reducing time spent searching and improving the overall efficiency of the matching process. By providing therapists with the most relevant details at a glance, the platform enhances user experience and supports more effective connections.

As a Staffer , how can review all my appointments on one screen?

Challenge

Challenge

I used persona and competitor analysis to ensure the solution is user-centered and addresses key pain points. Persona insights highlight BTs’ need for quick, consolidated access to appointments, while the CJM identifies challenges like scattered information and rescheduling difficulties. Competitor analysis reveals best practices to adopt and pitfalls to avoid.

After a thorough analysis of competitors and other platforms, I proposed a solution that clearly indicates when and why a Behavior Therapist (BT) needs to access their schedule.

The approach highlights key frustrations, such as challenges in navigating multiple screens and missing session details.

To address these issues, I recommended a unified calendar that seamlessly integrates with job applications and approvals, enhancing usability and efficiency.

Therapist Availability Calendar for Staffers

I prepared this UX documentation to outline the strategy and design approach for a platform that connects therapists with individuals on the autism spectrum. My goal was to create a seamless, accessible, and efficient experience for therapists, individuals, and caregivers. Through user research, I identified key pain points and needs, ensuring the platform's structure, design principles, and features address them effectively. I focused on accessibility, usability, and efficiency, incorporating WCAG compliance, intuitive navigation, and streamlined scheduling. Based on usability testing, I refined the design to enhance communication, appointment management, and therapist-client interactions.

Documentation

From user interviews, I discovered the main pain points and suggested integrating new features to address the previously unmet needs.

I updated the UI to match a brand-new design system.

I refined both the UX and UI to simplify the system’s functions, and created new navigation to help users quickly locate information.

Increased learnability and improved onboarding for new users.

Optimized the system’s workflow for different user types.
